EnvisaSoft

Help

These instructions are for website owners. Chat still runs on EnvisaSoft — WordPress and Astro only load the widget.

Getting started

  1. Create an account and verify your email.
  2. Add your website (name and URL).
  3. Connect WordPress, or paste the widget snippet on your pages.
  4. Open Inbox to reply.

WordPress installation

  1. Install and activate Live Chat by EnvisaSoft.
  2. Open Settings → Live Chat.
  3. Click Connect EnvisaSoft.
  4. Sign in or create your EnvisaSoft account.
  5. Select this website or create it, then authorize.
  6. You should see Connected, and the bubble on a public page (not wp-admin).

Advanced / Manual Setup is optional if you already have a public Site ID.

Astro installation

Use the EnvisaSoft Astro helper or paste the widget snippet from your website page. Keep the production widget URL:

https://chat.envisasoft.com/widget.js

Do not point the snippet at localhost in production.

Connecting a website

The website URL must match the public site, including www vs non-www. You cannot connect a WordPress site to a different company’s EnvisaSoft website.

Testing chat

  1. Open a public page on your website (not the WordPress admin).
  2. Click the chat bubble and send a test message.
  3. Open Inbox in EnvisaSoft and reply.

Operating chat on your website

These are operational steps for website owners. They are not legal advice, and they do not say you are required by law to do any of the following.

  • Install the widget only on pages where you want visitors to be able to chat (WordPress Connect, the snippet, or Astro).
  • Keep your EnvisaSoft website URL aligned with the public origin, including www vs non-www, and keep the site Active while you want the bubble to load.
  • If you already publish notices on your website, you can mention that live chat runs through EnvisaSoft. This page does not tell you what those notices must say.
  • The visitor widget stores a session token in the visitor’s browser (localStorage). It does not set EnvisaSoft cookies on your domain.
  • Decide who on your team should reply in Inbox. EnvisaSoft administrators can assign agents; do not use a platform administrator login to run a customer website.
  • Choose a retention period for closed conversations, or Indefinite, on the website page. Open conversations are not removed by retention. Backups are separate from this setting.
  • Protect your EnvisaSoft password and any two-factor codes. Do not share a platform administrator login.
  • Export website data before you delete your EnvisaSoft account if you need a copy. In-app deletion does not erase operational backups.

Managing agents

EnvisaSoft administrators can create agents and assign them to websites. Customers reply from Inbox on websites they own. Ask EnvisaSoft support if you need extra inboxes on your account.

Disconnecting and reconnecting

In WordPress, Settings → Live Chat → Disconnect turns the widget off on that WordPress site. It does not delete your EnvisaSoft website or conversations. Connect EnvisaSoft again to restore the bubble.

Deactivate website in EnvisaSoft also stops the widget from loading, and can be turned back on in Website settings.

Data retention

Closed conversations older than the retention period can be removed automatically. Open conversations are not removed by retention. Indefinite keeps closed conversations until you delete them.

Exporting data

On the website page, choose Export website data. When the file is ready, download it. Exports do not include passwords or visitor session secrets.

Visitor requests

If someone asks about a chat on your website, you can export that website’s data, delete a conversation, or deactivate the site from the website page. If you cannot complete the request there, email EnvisaSoft from the contact page.

Account deletion

Profile → Delete account deactivates your login and removes chat data for websites you own. Website records can remain deactivated. WordPress Disconnect is separate and does not delete EnvisaSoft history. Export first if you need a copy. Operational backups are not erased by this action.

Troubleshooting the widget

  • Confirm the website is Active in EnvisaSoft.
  • On WordPress, confirm Settings → Live Chat shows Connected and you are viewing a public page.
  • Clear page cache after connecting.
  • The website address in EnvisaSoft must match the public origin.

Troubleshooting live updates

If you see that live updates are temporarily unavailable, messages still send using a backup connection. Refresh the page, check that the site is active, and try again. Inbox uses the same backup if live updates cannot connect.
